Apple Adds iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3 to Vintage List
Apple has added the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3 to its vintage list, marking the second time the tech giant has done so after the iPhone 17 launch. This move allows Apple to manage its supply chain and focus on newer products like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max, launched in 2019, is now vintage. It supports iOS 26 but lacks Apple Intelligence features. It was discontinued in October 2020, along with its sibling, the iPhone 11 Pro. The Apple Watch Series 3, launched in 2017, was available for sale on Apple's website until 2022.
Vintage devices are out of the sales market for more than five years but less than seven years. They no longer receive new features or major updates. Repairs are possible if replacement parts are available, but official hardware support is limited. Apple usually does not perform repairs on vintage devices at its stores or through authorized service providers.
The iPhone 8 Plus (64GB and 256GB models) was previously added to the vintage list. Apple's vintage list helps manage its supply chain and focus on newer products like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 17. Consumers should consider this when purchasing older devices.
