Annual Gathering for Exploring Past Advancements in Science and Technology: 2025 Edition

The 27th International Congress of History of Science and Technology is set to take place in Otago, New Zealand, from the 28th of June to the 4th of July, 2025. This prestigious event, held every four years, is the world's premier meeting for the study of the history of science and technology.

The Congress will be a hybrid event, allowing both in-person and online participation, making it accessible to delegates from all over the globe. The University of Otago's Dunedin campus will serve as the venue for this significant gathering.

The focus of the 2025 Congress is on fostering integrated, expansive, and connected histories. The theme, "Peoples, Places, Exchanges, and Circulation," aims to highlight the importance of cultural and historical exchange and the preservation of scientific heritage.

A key highlight of the Congress will be a significant presentation on Mātauranga Māori, emphasising the importance of indigenous perspectives on science and technology history. This underscores the Congress's commitment to integrating Māori knowledge and worldview into the global history of science discourse.

Related scientific instrument symposia paired with the Congress will focus on themes such as "Peoples, Places, Exchanges." These symposia aim to increase awareness and documentation of scientific instrument collections in New Zealand and the South West Pacific region.

The Congress promises to be a vibrant gathering of leading scholars and students from various disciplines, including history of science, technology, and medicine. Registration and more information about the Congress can be found at [www.ichst2025.org](http://www.ichst2025.org).

This will be the first time the Congress is held in Australasia, making it a historic event for the region. The Congress in 2025 seeks to link different disciplines and perspectives, fostering both preservation and scholarly research communities in the field of the history of science and technology.
