Allows Integration of 3D Printers for Potential Shipped Packages by Russia Post

Traditional delivery of parcels, as opposed to 3D printed parcel production, represents a hurdle for Russia Post, as noted by Mikhail Volkov, the company's CEO.

**"Predicting when technology takes the reins can be tricky, as we're already witnessing with the rise of 3D printers becoming commonplace in our daily lives," said Mikhail Volkov, according to TASS.

Mikhail Volkov, the head of "Russian Post," is working on incorporating robotization methods into their operations to manage large volumes of mail efficiently, including implementing unmanned technologies.

On April 9, the Ministry of Digital Development drafted a federal law offering support measures for "Russian Post." This legislation could include a list of services offered by postal branches, exemptions for certain operations without a pharmaceutical license, and a list of approved medications for sale through "Russian Post." Furthermore, postal branches might act as pick-up points for orders, allowing marketplaces to deliver goods through them.

As for the potential impacts of 3D printing and robotization on postal services in general:

On-demand manufacturing: Russian Post could save on storage and logistics costs by utilizing localized 3D printing hubs to produce items like packaging materials or customer-requested goods on-site. For instance, multi-material 3D printers might be employed to produce lightweight components for logistics equipment or customized packaging inserts.

Supply chain resilience: By printing critical components in-house, such as conveyor parts or robotic grippers, Russian Post could minimize downtime and dependency on external suppliers.
