Allego gains control of gateway access software provider, Gatewise
Allegion plc, a leading global provider of security products and solutions, has announced the acquisition of Gatewise Incorporated, a U.S. multifamily market smart access control solutions provider. The acquisition aims to combine Gatewise’s cloud-based gate entry systems and mobile app with Allegion’s existing electronic locks and Zentra multifamily access solutions, creating a more complete and seamless access and security platform for multifamily properties.
Gatewise CEO Amit Sherman will join Allegion to help ensure a smooth integration and drive growth. Sherman stated that making community access simple while secure is at the center of Gatewise’s technology. This integration will expand perimeter security capabilities, unify access control across gates, common areas, and individual units, and deliver recurring value with scalable, secure, and simplified access management.
The integration strategy focuses on combining technologies, enhancing user experience, leveraging property management systems, collaboration from leadership, and a strategic growth focus. By integrating Gatewise’s cloud-based gate entry system and mobile app with Allegion’s solutions, they aim to cover perimeter, unit, and common area security comprehensively. This will simplify access management through a unified portal and app for residents and property managers, improving security and ease of use.
Gatewise’s technology is designed to integrate with leading property management systems, enabling smooth adoption within multifamily communities. The acquisition is part of Allegion’s broader strategy to expand its market share and customer base in the multifamily sector by adding smart, scalable, and secure access solutions.
John H. Stone, Allegion President and CEO, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating that the combined Gatewise and Zentra will bring a more complete access and security solution to multifamily properties. Sherman also expressed his excitement about serving more multifamily communities alongside Allegion and Zentra.
Gatewise aims to alleviate the pains of traditional multifamily gate access products by creating ease of use with their mobile app. The combined solution aims to deliver recurring value to customers and end users with seamless, safe experiences.
Allegion has not disclosed the terms of the transaction with Gatewise. However, the acquisition positions Allegion to offer a more comprehensive security solution that addresses the evolving needs of the U.S. multifamily market.
