AIG Names Scott Hallworth as New Chief Digital Officer

American International Group (AIG) has appointed Scott Hallworth as its new chief digital officer, effective 1 September 2025. Hallworth joins from Hewlett Packard, bringing a wealth of experience in technology, financial services, and insurance.

Hallworth's appointment comes on the heels of John Neal's recent hiring as president of AIG's General Insurance organization. He will succeed Claude Wade, who is stepping down due to health concerns. Initially, Hallworth will report to Wade until the end of the year.

Hallworth's role will involve steering AIG's digital, data, and generative AI (genAI) strategy, with a focus on scaling genAI throughout the organization. AIG chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino praised the appointment, acknowledging Hallworth's expertise in technology and financial services. Upon Wade's departure, Hallworth will report directly to Zaffino from 1 January 2026.

Scott Hallworth brings a robust background in insurance and risk management, having served as senior vice-president and chief actuary at Travelers. He has also held the position of chief data officer at both HP and Capital One. Hallworth will be integrated into AIG's executive leadership team and will operate out of New York.
