AIG Appoints Scott Hallworth as New Chief Digital Officer
American International Group (AIG) has appointed Scott Hallworth as its new chief digital officer, effective 1 September 2025. Hallworth brings a wealth of experience in data, digital transformation, and generative AI (genAI) from his previous roles at HP and Capital One.
Hallworth will initially report to Claude Wade, who will step down at the end of the year due to health concerns. Wade's departure follows the recent appointment of John Neal as the president of AIG's General Insurance organization, effective 1 December 2025.
Hallworth's primary task will be to steer AIG's digital, data, and genAI strategy, with a focus on scaling genAI throughout the organization. He has previously served as chief data officer at both HP and Capital One, demonstrating his expertise in these areas. Upon joining AIG, Hallworth will be integrated into the executive leadership team and will operate out of New York.
From 1 January 2026, Hallworth will report directly to AIG chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino. Zaffino praised Wade's contributions to AIG during his tenure and welcomed Hallworth's appointment, highlighting his background in insurance and risk management, having worked as senior vice-president and chief actuary at Travelers.
Scott Hallworth's appointment as AIG's new chief digital officer signals the company's commitment to digital innovation and genAI. With his extensive experience and expertise, Hallworth is poised to drive AIG's digital transformation and help the company stay competitive in the ever-evolving insurance landscape.
