AI Reshaping Global Labour Market: 75 Million Jobs at Risk by 2026
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the global labour market, with 75 million jobs near me at risk due to automation, according to a recent study. This accounts for 2.3% of worldwide employment. While AI reduces manual roles and hybrid tasks, it struggles to replace human skills like emotional intelligence and adaptability. Meanwhile, AI is advancing rapidly, entering its fourth generation, and is expected to grow exponentially by 2026.
The founder of the 'DeepEdu' project in Vietnam, Tran Viet Hung, is at the forefront of AI integration. Hung, also co-founder and CEO of AI for Vietnam, is transforming education through AI. Currently, humans perform 47% of labour tasks, but this is projected to decrease to 33% by 2030. Office workers, heavily reliant on screens, are most affected and must adapt to leverage AI's potential.
AI is creating new roles like AI specialists and trainers, risk managers, and AI psychologists. The World Economic Forum predicts that up to 23% of jobs could vanish in the next five years, with repetitive roles most vulnerable. However, AI also presents opportunities for unique, individualised jobs in the future.
To navigate this AI-driven landscape, investment in retraining and upskilling is crucial. Mastering AI is like learning a new skill, requiring consistent practice. As AI evolves, so must our workforce, embracing the changes and seizing the opportunities it presents.
