AI Prank Gone Wrong: Woman Faces Charges After Mother Calls Police

A 24-year-old woman in Ahorn, Coburg district, has found herself in trouble after an AI prank on her mother went awry. The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, tried to fool her mother into believing a man was in her apartment during a video call on Facebook. The prank involved adding a fake man to the call using AI technology. However, the mother, concerned for her daughter's safety, took the situation seriously and contacted the police. Upon arrival, officers found the daughter at the door, apologetic for the hoax. Despite the daughter's remorse, she may now face charges under the Ordnungswidrigkeitengesetz for disturbing the peace. If convicted, she could face a fine of up to 1,000 euros. The incident serves as a reminder that while AI can be a fun tool on Facebook, it's important to use it responsibly and consider the potential consequences of our actions. The woman's identity remains protected, but her actions have resulted in a serious situation that could now lead to penalties.
