AI-driven billing platform Flexprice secures $500,000 in funding to bolster open-source solutions for the emerging AI-centric business landscape

Flexprice, an open-source billing and metering platform, has recently secured $500,000 in a pre-seed funding round. The funding round was led by TDV Partners and participated in by seasoned operators and angel investors, including Brij Bhushan, Gunjan Patidar, Ram Singla, Pradyot Ghate, Sandeep Gupta, Akash Singh, Harshit Dwivedi, and others. However, there is no information available at this time about a General Partner of TDV Partners involved in financing Flexprice.

Flexprice aims to address the challenges faced by engineering teams in today's dynamic, metered AI and API-first business models. Legacy billing tools often struggle to meet these demands, leading to costly bottlenecks as teams end up spending months building and maintaining complex infrastructure for metering, entitlement gating, usage aggregation, and billing logic.

The platform offers a solution to these problems by providing a modular billing layer for usage-based, hybrid, or custom pricing, without the need for reinventing the wheel. Flexprice can function either as a metering layer or a complete billing engine, integrating with popular payment providers like Stripe, Adyen, and Razorpay.

Nikhil Mishra, CTO of Flexprice, stated that their goal is to make modern billing accessible, composable, and cost-effective. The platform features real-time analytics dashboards and invoice visibility for both customers and internal teams, ensuring transparency and control.

Ujwal Sutaria, General Partner at TDV Partners, believes that Flexprice is solving a fundamental infrastructure gap in the monetization stack for AI and Agentic companies. With the new funding, Flexprice plans to expand its engineering team, accelerate integrations with popular payment gateways, and deepen its open-source offerings.

The AI boom is reshaping monetization strategies, with over two thirds of SaaS companies now launching or integrating GenAI features. The total addressable market (TAM) for modern AI billing infrastructure is estimated at $4 billion, growing at 20% CAGR. Flexprice targets both the 70,000+ "AI-native" startups worldwide and large enterprises to evolve their AI monetization models.

The platform offers developer-first APIs and SDKs for real-time usage tracking, event instrumentation, and quota gating. Flexprice supports multiple pricing models, including pay-as-you-go, credits, seats, or volume tiers, making it a flexible solution for various businesses. These changes in infrastructure costs and customer value perception are causing a shift towards usage-based or hybrid billing models, and Flexprice aims to cater to this growing need.

In conclusion, Flexprice's pre-seed funding round marks an exciting step forward for the company, as it continues to develop a modern billing and metering platform that caters to the needs of the dynamic, metered AI and API-first business models of today.
