Adobe Integrates Generative Artificial Intelligence into Premiere Pro Software
Adobe has taken a significant step forward in the realm of creative technology, expanding its Firefly generative AI models to video. This development comes after the successful integration of Firefly-powered features in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
The Firefly Video Model is now in limited public beta, offering Text to Video and Image to Video capabilities. This beta version is accessible via a waitlist at firefly.adobe.com. Generations during the beta phase are free. More information about video generation offers and pricing will be shared when the Firefly Video Model moves out of limited public beta.
Adobe's Firefly has already made a significant impact since its first beta release in March 2023. The AI has generated over 13 billion images, with an increase of over 6 billion in the past six months.
The Firefly Video Model is designed to be commercially safe, making it the first publicly available video model of its kind. This model joins the Firefly Image 3 Model, which has been enhanced for faster generations and is available on the Firefly web app.
In addition to video, Adobe has also introduced new features powered by the Firefly Vector Model (beta) in Illustrator. These include Generative Shape Fill, Generative Recolor, and Text to Pattern.
Adobe's Firefly generative AI models are developed under its AI Ethics principles of accountability, responsibility, and transparency, known as "Content Credentials." These act like a 'nutrition label' for digital content, providing insights into how it was created and edited.
Adobe trains its Firefly generative AI models on licensed content such as Adobe Stock or public-domain content. The latest version of the Firefly Vector Model allows creators to control the density of elements in a single pattern.
The Generative Extend AI beta in Premiere Pro offers creators the ability to extend clips, smooth out transitions, and hold onto shots for perfectly timed edits. This feature is a significant addition to Premiere Pro, one of the most popular video-production systems in the Media & Entertainment industry.
Adobe's commitment to transparency is further demonstrated by its Content Authenticity Initiative, which has garnered support from over 3,700 members. This initiative champions the widespread adoption of Content Credentials as the industry standard for transparency in digital content.

Adobe also previewed "Project Concept," a new capability for multiplayer, collaborative, creative concept development, but details about this project are yet to be announced. As of September 2025, there is no specific information available about the official release date or limited beta opening duration for the Adobe Firefly Video model.
