Achieve the position of a top-tier cybersecurity advisor.
In an effort to enhance safety and reduce the fear of crime among elderly citizens, the municipalities in the Bergisches Städtedreieck and the police in Wuppertal are jointly seeking new honorary Senior Safety Advisors (SeSis). These volunteers play a crucial role in promoting safety and preventing accidents among older adults.
The tasks of the SeSis are diverse and extensive. They inform seniors about a range of topics, including burglary prevention, pickpocketing, fraud offenses, door-to-door sales, telephone marketing, internet dangers, and more. The goal is to protect elderly citizens from becoming victims of crimes and to make existing aid offers in the social sector known.
The training for the SeSis is conducted by the Department of Criminal Prevention and Victim Protection, with experienced police officers serving as trainers. The training will take place from 27 to 31.01.2025 in Wuppertal. After training, the SeSis will be prepared for their future tasks and will have police officers from the Department of Criminal Prevention and Victim Protection as contact persons and supporters.
The SeSis hold conversations at senior events, community centers, clubs, and similar facilities. They also visit individual citizens at home upon request. Additionally, they can be found at various types of events such as exhibitions, trade fairs, neighborhood, community, and street festivals, lectures, churches, parties, and trade unions.
Interested parties can contact the email address [email protected] or phone 0202 / 284 - 1801 to become honorary SeSis. By becoming a SeSis, volunteers have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older adults, helping to enhance safety awareness, provide practical advice, support independent living, and engage with the community.
The SeSis serve as a trusted resource to improve the quality of life and safety for seniors in these communities. Their mission is to reduce the likelihood of accidents that could lead to injury or loss of autonomy, and to help seniors maintain their independence. By working closely with local organizations, authorities, and other stakeholders, the SeSis aim to implement safety programs and initiatives for the elderly population. Join the SeSis today and make a difference in the lives of older adults in Wuppertal, Solingen, and Remscheid.
